Function Notation

Hey guys, I am currently studying function notation and I am confused. I am not asking for an answer but I would like for someone to explain this question to me.

The function f : {x : x = 0, 1, 2} R, where f(x) = x 4, may be expressed as:

A. {(0, −4), (1, −3), (2, −2)}
B. {0, 1, 2}
C. {(0, 4), (1, 3), (2, 2)}
D. {(−1, −5), (1, −3), (2, −2)}
Hi! I think x can only be 0,1,2 - function domain and f(x) is a a range. So u asked about range and all possible points
None of A,B,C or D offer expressions of the function. The function you have is a mapping, via f, from your domain of the set {0,1,2} to the codomain of {-4,-3,-2}. Is there something more to the question that we're missing?
