Sorry, not sure if you guys missed my question, but does anyone know where to see the ratio of international students to locals/home applicants in individual colleges?

It's derivable from this document http://www.study.cam.ac.uk/undergraduate/publications/docs/admissionsstatistics2012.pdf

which gives the home candidate admissions stats, and the overall application stats from the graph generator on the Cambridge stats website. Churchill, Homerton,Kings and Trinity are the most international at over 30%. But bear in mind this is undergrads only. Graduate entry may well be more international.

What do people think about John's? People who go there are revered and loved wherever they deign to venture. When meeting students from other colleges, a Johnian need only drop the phrase: "I go to John's" to receive a cacophony of elated gasps. Johnians have thus become the social linchpins of Cambridge student life.

None of the colleges will have particularly expensive accommodation, but I (partisan though I may be) would point you in the direction of Trinity. Rooms are almost invariably large, many are en-suite and the accommodation is considerably cheaper than what most will pay.

Haha Thanx for the reply  I had my heart set on johns for ages but at the open day yesterday I was like 'yep I love it!' The rooms are ok looking, but do they have a pool?
And are there lots of different types of people there - it might be awkward if I'm the only Asian (dnt get me wrong i can make friends with all types of people, but I just feel more comfortable in a more culturally diverse place...)

Sorry for the long question!!

So I want to study Engineering at Cambridge, and I love both colleges. I visited St Johns on the open day and loved it but I haven't been to trinity yet so can't say how it compares...
I take Maths, Chem, Phys, and D&T. I do not take further maths, and St. John sometimes require step, so they may ask me to take it. Trinity rarely use step, so I probably won't have to take it, but this could mean that I would be less likely to get a place because I haven't proven my mathematical ability...
St. John's have a short maths test and questions to look at before interview. Trinity has a 60 min maths and physics test at interview.

Could you please tell me which college I should apply to? You can include other prices such as standard and price of accommodation too... Thanx

If by pool you mean swimming pool, then no. You'll be happy to hear though that all the colleges, even John's, are very diverse; you won't struggle to find other Asians there.

Maybe the irony was made slightly too hyperbolic

So the likelihood of being offered this (I'm predicted 40 with core points) is quite low? I am just wondering just in case my predicted point score drops by a bit

King's says on its website that its standard IB offer is lower than the university standard. AFAIK no other college does this.

International Baccalaureate
We standardly require grades 7, 6, 6 in the relevant Higher Level subjects plus an overall score of 38, including the Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay components. To find out about the IB and where you can take it, please see the International Baccalaureate Organisation website. N.B.: The admissions websites for other Cambridge Colleges may specify higher IB offers. We can confirm that the information above is correct for all courses at King's.

Only Girton and Emma have their own swimming pools, IIRC, and Emma's is outdoors and only used in summer. Most people go to the Kelsey Kerridge leisure centre (or Jesus Green open air pool if it's open and you're feeling brave!) if they want to swim, though neither are particularly cheap options.
Are there any colleges that let you stay in the same room for all 3 years?

I think you can at Newnham, but I'm not sure about elsewhere. The best I ever managed at Pembroke was all three years in college, but since they reserve certain rooms for freshers (so they're all together in a few staircases) I was never going to get to stay in one room...

I managed the same room in 2nd and 3rd year, and probably could've got it for 4th year had I stayed on.
Having studied there, I would recommend strongly against King's. It will mess your life up.
