But if I choose open I could end up at a different one to one of these, and these are certainly my favourites.

Well, what do you want a college to have? And what would you view as large disadvantages for a college?

I'd like decent facilities like a gym, tv, etc. and to be near to engineering buildings. Bad thing would be too pretencious!

I'm stuck between Christ's, Jesus, and Trinity Hall. Just wondering what people's views or past experiences are?

They're all nice colleges and you can't really go wrong. Jesus and Christ's are physically larger than Trinity Hall. All three are competitive colleges.

Maybe just go through the faculty and see if there's anyone of particular interest in your subject at each college?

I'm applying for Architecture. I'm torn between King's, Trinity Hall, Peterhouse and Sidney Sussex. Does anyone recommend any of these for architecture?

I started at Trinity Hall yesterday and can't recommend it enough! I'd say go to Cambridge if you can and have a look, it's often an irrational decision where you just choose the one you feel most at home. Some find Tit Hall claustrophobic, some find Kings intimidating, some find Jesus too big.
I cannot fine any comments on Selwyn college. Is there anyone who can tell me anything about Selwyn college?

I want to apply for Natural Sciences at a college that does not require TSA.
Other than that, I hope it's closed to lecture halls so I can roll outta bed the last minute.
Btw, I would love to have a great bar, I love singing and football too
Any suggestion?

As unbiased-ly as possible - Downing! No TSA for NatSci, *really* close to all NatSci first year and second year lectures (all 3/4 years for most scientists - it's a ~10 minute cycle for Physics in 3rd year).

The bar is student run, recently done up, and one of (if not the) cheapest in Cambridge. We have a great choir and loads of football teams - I think the mens firsts tend to do quite well but there's also a women's team (I don't know what gender you are!).

Selwyn is very pretty and quite close to the Sidgwick Site and UL. I don't know too much else about it!
Which has the best accomodation/food/self catering/library/best for law/best for biochemistry?

Out of:

Downing
Trinity
Clare

Thanks!

About ~30 lawyers per year, but also ~30 NatScis a year so it's not too many
I really can't decide which college to go for. Applying for Masters, not fussed about distance hugely although closer to town centre preferable. Want good accommodation for postgrads (ideally would have good self catering facilities as I have cooked for myself throughout all of uni and would miss being able to do so). Don't want it to be too big or small, nice community feel.

So far I'm thinking Emma, Pembroke, Queens and Sidney are my top four, obvs need to narrow it down to two. Any advice welcome.
I'm applying to St John's to study chemical engineering. Describe what kind of person I am. If the descriptions are anything like me, I know I will have chosen the right college.

lol, that's a silly thing to ask. Colleges have a diverse range of people in them.

I was asking more for the comical value. I know they are not always true but I am aware of the social stereotype that are labelled onto people of certain colleges.

I would personally recommend Peterhouse if you like social networking or Tit Hall if you like to study. I am somewhat biased towards Pet because half my family's gone there (the other half went to Girton, guess which half was which).

I would not recommend King's, 'nuff said. The impression I get from Sid is that it's not a bad college or anything, but it is mediocre/unremarkable.

Go with Jesus. The relaxed atmosphere is a plus; it's big and central, but not over-run with insects (my peculiar name for tourists). If you like to drink or if you are a boffin, choose Tit Hall instead (cheaper drinks than Jesus to be sure, but also a greater emphasis on studies)
