On the Jesus College website, it says that
[t]he building is open 24 hours a day, 360 days a year.

So almost 24/7
I spent ages looking through colleges. Was going to make an open application but went for St Johns. Is that a good decision if I'm looking to study English?
just wondering which college is the best for MML?

So, I'm not applying until next year, but I was just wondering something; which college would be best for Engineering, doesn't put too much emphasis on deferred entry, is relatively close to everything, offers on site accommodation, and pretty much looks like a castle. :P

I've been considering King's, but I don't want it to be too touristy, where I to get in, that is. :h:

These tables will probably help you:

Table 1
Table 2
Table 3

They can all be found in the Cambridge Engineering website, under 'Useful Information.'

Like a Castle? Hmm. First court Corpus looks a bit castley, Pembroke is more likke a mutilated château. Ditto Caius, the ouside part. I dunno, Cambridge isn't really castle ccountry :p:

Peterhouse is obviously the one to go for though. 90s bed to lecture.

My DoS told us that Emma has a very good reputation for languages and that we've been consistently hovering near the top of the departmental table for the last five or ten years. However, this could have just been motivational/scary talk  MML does seem to be pretty good here, but I do think it depends on the languages you take. My friend doing German and Russian is supervised out of college for both. One good thing about Emma is that it's fairly rich and in MML they just fling money at you to send you all over the globe. I'm probably going to end up going to Russia twice and Spain once this year, if all goes to plan

(And we have a 24 hour library, to whoever asked).

oh, thank you! I'd never seen that before.
Hey!!! Why doesn't anyone mention Churchill? I'm just wondering as I applied there and am starting to get nervous... is it THAT bad? I thought it was a pretty great college from what I read in the prospectus and when I was there it seemed nice and friendly (and had two libraries, which probably affected my decision).
Churchill College is known for being "the science college" as it's known to admit more science students than arts students. also, it more farther away from the centre of town rather than the back's colleges etc. also, many people don't apply to Churchill as because it's modern, it doesn't have as beautiful architechure as the older colleges  btw, just pick the college you want to go. just because people don't mention churchill doesn't mean you shouldn't apply to churchill.

also, there's more info on wikipedia, the college's website, the tsr wiki, the college thread etc on churchill college
btw, for cam engineering, would you be at an advantage if you took step?

It seemed pretty nice when I went for an open day there, and people I've met from there seem to like it. IMO the same colleges seem to be mentioned here fairly independently of what you ask.

What's the unofficial stance on St Catz MML? Someone from my school two years ago got in for it and they have their own library as well for MML (the college has its own library, not the guy).

I'm hoping to go to Trinity, Queens' or Clare. I've visted them all and love them all but I can't decide which one to put as my first choice college!!! Which is the most friendliest/social college? What are the pros / cons of each college?

Thanks.

trinity is amazing, its the college where isaac newton studied, queens is nice too, clare is the largest college in cambridge...u ought 2 look at the specific entry requirements and admissions tests required by each college for the course ur doing, i recon trinity will have the toughest entry requirements......
Which subject?
