trinity is amazing, its the college where isaac newton studied, queens is nice too, clare is the largest college in cambridge...u ought 2 look at the specific entry requirements and admissions tests required by each college for the course ur doing, i recon trinity will have the toughest entry requirements......

It's a postgraduate course I'm choosing so as long as I get onto the course I can choose any college I want. Which college has the friendliest atmosphere from the ones I have mentioned. Also, why do you describe Trinty as ''amazing''? Thanks.

Clare is the prettiest out of the 3, and is a nice size. Queens has some terrible buildings in it, and some really nice ones. Trinity is massive.

No idea :p:
Grad communities are often very different to undergrad communities. Talking about undergrad atmospheres isn't really going to help you much.

well i cant rele answer the q of "which is the friendliest", a cambridge student might be of more help. As for trinity, for me personally as an engineering applicant, trinity has some spectacular monuments including the Newton memorial, it also is a huge college and has a kick-ass maths department (named after newton)

So, I'm not applying until next year, but I was just wondering something; which college would be best for Engineering, doesn't put too much emphasis on deferred entry, is relatively close to everything, offers on site accommodation, and pretty much looks like a castle. :P

I've been considering King's, but I don't want it to be too touristy, where I to get in, that is. :h:

I'm at King's and not really bothered by the tourists. I wouldn't let them put you off! King's fufils your other criteria.

Well as stated, Kings is the obvious option, but John's is also a possibility. It has a more gothic look than Kings, but I think it looks amazing. [I am not at John's]

I had quite a hard time deciding between which college to apply to. I narrowed it to Trinity, Pembroke, G&C and Kings. All pretty different haha.
OK, I know they're both all-girls, but I've been going to an all-girls school for so many years that I think I'll find it hard to make friends with boys as I'm not so used to doing so, but I am straight!! (:
Anyway, I'm leaning towards Newnham because I've heard New Hall is pretty new looking and I want a more traditional college. But, which one is nearer to the Medical labs/lectures/science areas? Other pros and cons about either college would be greatly appreciated (: x

Worry about College choice later! For now, University choices are more than enough.

Your school sounds silly. I hadn't even realised what course I wanted to do until august this year, and I'm applying for 2009 entry. :p:

New Hall is annoyingly far away from things. Or at least I had to go up there the other day and it was annoying far away. The architecture is interesting, the dome is quite cool, but Newnham is lovely.

Don't feel that just because you went to a girl's school you won't enjoy a mixed environment though. Most people don't have much of a problem with it, even if they did go to single-sex schools.

hey, just wondering what u all think about sidney sussex  because i'm an international applicant here and i don't really know the diff between the various colleges and left mine as an open application. If i'm not wrong, i've been allocated to be considered by sidney sussex college ^^
Sidney Sussex is 15feet away from Sainsburys, mega plus in my view.
