Ok so i've reserved a room in a uni owned house in Tile Hill, only i have no idea what the area is like and what the local amenities are.

Anyone know what its like?

Tile Hill as in near the 12 route with the huge Sainsbury's and a mass of eating places (McDonalds/Pizza Hut/KFC)? Well, I suppse you won't know if you don't know what's in Tile Hill, but so far as I'm aware it's alright. Nothing spectacular, but pretty convenient.

It's not nearly the most popular student area in Cov (that would be Earlsdon, obviously) but you'll have housemates to be sociable with. It's within a reasonable walking distance of campus so you may not feel a ~£180 bus pass is justified.

It depends which part of Tile Hill, some parts are rough, others less so. (I'm a mature student, lived in Tile Hill for years, so if you can be a bit more specific, I can give you better info.)

Westcotes, off Tile Hill Lane. Thanks!

Westcotes is ok and if you want a decent curry, the Rupali on Tile Hill Lane is good. I'd avoid Jardine Crescent (off Job's Lane) as it's a bit dire.

Hope this helps!

Westcotes is a nice street. Its not particularly close to the 12 route so you'll probably have to cycle/walk into campus if you don't have a car (if you do, parking is a little limited at times down there). Driving into campus will take around 10 minutes depending on traffic conditions, and walking takes ~30 minutes. Its close to a large Sainsburys, a decent convenience store and a pub. Its not much of a student area though, if that matters to you.

It would be helpful if someone can please name areas to avoid in tile hill. How about Gravel hill and Bullfield ave. Are these steets/areas fine. I am looking to move with my wife and a 2 year old son. Your response will be highly appreciated
