I have received offers from both universities conditional on achieving a B in English Lit. Initially I was going to firm Glasgow but having looked at the course modules (particularly for the first two years) Edinburgh seemed to be more interesting, charting the development of art and literature from medieval to present while Glasgow's website didn't offer much insight into the modules, and they seemed less in depth. However, Glasgow's English and Art History department are higher in the league tables than Edinburgh's, and it also has higher student satisfaction, although Edinburgh has a better reputation internationally...

I love both cities, and though I know Edinburgh much better, Glasgow seemed friendly and very similar to my home city of Liverpool. I know Glasgow is a bit better for nightlife, and although I'm not that into partying, the music scene draws me in. On the other hand, Edinburgh seems to have slightly more going on in the arts such as theatre performances, the fringe etc. Glasgow - the UNESCO city of music vs Edinburgh - the UNESCO City of Literature...

Overall, I'm really stuck and would greatly appreciate some advice, particularly from people who have studied English Lit or Art History at either of the unis.
