pretty sure admissions tutors and medicine application processes include the weighting of the UCAT, personal statement, band in situational judgement, interview performance rather than just subjects and predicted grades
wow I feel great now, guess I have to take a gap year according to you with my 2 advanced highers without maths and 2 crash highers before I can get into med school
I said: “if all other aspects are equal, the one with the best grades and predicted grades will get the offer”. And said “I’d recommend doing 3 advanced highers or at least 2 alongside a higher or two.” Due to the fact all medicine applicants I know are doing 3 advanced, and as I said previously, doing more would be more advantageous but not necessary if other application aspects are stronger than those of others. And I also said in regards to maths: “have only seen maths be strongly advised by Cambridge and maybe a few others”. So no I didn’t say you couldn’t get into med school if you do 2 advanced highers and don’t do maths.

wow. You must be a genius, finding 3 advanced highers easy. I'm only doing bio and chemistry and a crash higher and I'm finding them definitely not easy. I wish I found it easy ahhaah
Not a genius. Just understand (and hence remember) things easily and quickly which means I don’t really have to revise much. I wanted to do 4 to increase my chances of meeting offer conditions (AAB, not medicine but Oxford) but my school didn’t offer the other subject I wanted to do, and 3 is enough to meet requirements if all goes well.

That's lucky for you, my life is literally just studying right now!

Mine is watching Netflix. But I’m going to have to start studying as there is stuff I want to remember and since there is so much ambiguity with the projects, which I’ve barely started, (since some markers may find it good and others not so much, so an element of luck there with what marker you get). I’m going to have to aim for close to 100% in the physics and chemistry papers to cancel out any possible not-so-good project marks. Maths is fine though, no projects there, so it’s the easiest one to get close to full marks in. 🙂

Good luck to you, you seem to be working hard so definitely deserve it.

Hahaha thank you for all the responses!! It was definitely helpful to see what other medical applicants are doing and if they enjoy it or not. I'll try to have a discussion with my guidance teacher this month of next about options so hopefully, all goes well.
