Career Progression Justification

Hi All,

I am an f4 doctor wanting to apply for Cardiothoracic surgery. I was not shortlisted this year and was planning to take an F5 year if my cst application is not successful. I wanted advice on what to mention on my career progression. I did a masters in F3 but not sure what to write for f4 and f5 apart from attempting to take my mrcs and courses etc.

Haven't you done/don't you plan to do any clinical work at all?! I think even in the modern era where years out are normal, 3 years with no clinical contact would raise eyebrows! With a competitive speciality even moreso...
