Not sure if this is a good idea or not. I really want to do a degree someday and I am doing an engineering apprenticeship at a big company. The length of the apprenticeship is 3 and a half years and I am in my second year. Currently I am doing a level 3 BTEC Diploma in mechanical engineering and finish it in september. I am also doing an Extended Diploma NVQ level 3 which I finish at the end of the apprenticehip. The company will put me through level 4 HNC after the BTEC is finished which will take 2 years to finish. After the HNC is finished the company could put me through a degree but it is unlikely as they take on degree apprentices now and they don't normally put level 3 apprentices through degrees anymore. I'm not sure if I should just apply for a part time degree at the next available opportunity or now if I still can. Or do the HNC and then apply for a part time degree.
