I ****ed up an essay on one of my modules and I'm really afraid of getting a 2:2 from manchester for English lit. I need to get into a graduate program or my parents will have my head. I'm not bad at research though, I presented my work at conferences and there are some undergraduate research journals that like my work. Am I beyond help?

"Undergraduate research journals". I have never heard of that before. Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much. Focus on doing your best and completing your degree. You can always do an MSc afterwards. A lot of jobs also "only" require a 2:2 as well, so don't worry too much! Also, your parents need to be realistic. Getting a graduate job is difficult and may take some time.

What do you want to do when you graduate? A graduate job, a postgraduate degree?

A postgraduate degree. Preferably in English literature or media and communications

Getting a 2:2 won't necessarily stop you going forward to do a MA, but it just may restrict the universities you can realistically apply to. Maybe start researching options now, both for if you get a 2:2 or 2:1.
