Does the company insure you directly on the car or do they have some other form of cover which allows anyone who works for the company to drive it?

Typically insurance for company vehicles will cover any employee of the company as long as they hold the correct licence. Smaller companies may work differently but that's how it generally works for most company vehicles which are meant to be shared among employees like work vans or pool cars.

If you have a company car as a perk then it would most likely be a different kind of insurance more like normal car insurance.

My partner has a company car and I believe anyone is allowed to drive it as long as they have a full licence, the only thing he couldn't do was let me drive it in an empty car park when I first started lessons as I'm a leaner
