is Nottingham or Birmingham a safer city? And the accommodation?

I'm considering between these two unis and wondering which city is safer? also, where do students live after first year of uni and how far away is it from the campus? (I've applied to do pharmacy)

Visited Brum uni several times and lived in Notts (as a students).

Honestly I feel safe in Nottingham (but tbf I now know the areas and what im doing much more then I would in Birmingham).

I think at Notts if you are sensible you'll be fine, dont walk back home drunk alone, taxi/uber if you are by yourself. I suspect the same applies to Brum, I think Nottingham may be safer overall only because of its size both population & geographically adds more risk imo, if you want to be safe then be sensible wherever you live, you cant control every little thing but common sense should get you through uni (hopefully).
