How does the IB check plagiarism for IAs, apart from software like TurnItIn?
There are loads of YouTube videos recommending a specific format/content that you should use for an IA, but if that people have already used said format/content, won't it be counted as plagiarism, even if it's paraphrased? What if people base their work on a previous IA? Even if they paraphrase, they are using other people's ideas - how does the IBO catch that sort of thing?

at uni we use TurnItIn and a certain threshold is allowed like ~25% max depending on how academic and referenced key parts are

inevitably you will be quoting directly or using similar words in heavily technical areas or repeating established ideas
