Hey, how can I build a bit of strength particularly in my arms ? I am not a fan of gyms as it makes me nervous and I'd need to build courage first. Does anyone have suggestions for affordable home equipment or methods I could perhaps use? I'm literally the most pathetically weak guy and its awkward. Especially at work where I lift a lot of things and sometimes have to get assistance.

My first recommendation would be to get over your fear of going to the gym as it would be the most efficient way to gain strength but if you really can't do that I would say you should follow r/bodyweightfitness recommended routine.

You can buy dumbbells. If you go down that route, you'd be best to get adjustable ones so you can change the weight on them as required.
