Bsc Zoology Degree

Hi,
I have applied for the University of Chester for Zoology and was wondering if anyone who takes this degree could tell me what it’s like, living and going to chester university?

Hi! I can't tell you anything about the zoology course but can tell you about living in Chester.
I believe from the university website that you'll be based at Parkgate Road campus - seeing as it's the main campus, there's a fair bit going on there and it's not too far from the city centre either. A lot of the off campus accommodation is pretty close to main campus, too. The campus library does get busy, especially at certain times of day/year when everyone has assignments due, however there are loads of computers and quite a few spaces for you to sit with your laptop. I enjoyed studying in Chester that much that I'm still living here nearly 7 years later. I found it good for being able to study and have a social life without it being too small or too big a place, with decent transport connections to Liverpool, Manchester, north Wales, 2 hours on the train to London etc.
If you're into clubbing/going out etc, there's a lot of pubs and a couple of clubs in Chester in addition to the students' union bar and the student nights tend to be quite popular. If you're not into that scene, don't worry, there's plenty of other stuff going on! Chester is ok for shopping (and about 20 mins on the bus to Cheshire Oaks - the same bus that goes to the zoo, probably a place of interest for you!) & has loads of cafes dotted around.
You may want to check out Storyhouse (www.storyhouse.com) for various other cultural stuff going on.
It's a really nice city to live and study in - although it can get busy with tourists! There's times where I prefer to, instead of going to Tesco in town for food shop, walking 10 mins in the opposite direction to the one on the retail park on the edge of town! I also personally find an evening walk round the walls quite relaxing.
