Many good universities will accept grade B for History. It depends on what you call good and what area you intend to study. I think for example all Welsh universities will accept those grades other than possibly Cardiff. Places like Reading, Royal Holloway, Kent, Sussex, East Anglia, Leicester, Keele are all likely to accept you with those grades. Sometimes they offer AAB or ABB but most universities will accept BBB on results days other than places like Durham and Exeter for History.

I study history at UEA and their offer is currently BBB, the course is absolutely incredible. You're taught by world class academics, one of them is releasing the 'new bible' on Edward the Confessor. The uni is such a friendly and incredible place, I absolutely adore my time here. If you've got anymore questions let me know!

Hello! I would have a look at the university courses themselves, as different universities have different periods of history in which they specialise (even if this is not stated). I know my uni, Bournemouth, has a focus on modern history and media.

The only way to get into a good uni is by doing a foundation year.

Are you sure you're not just here to promote a University, Mr 1st Post?

Well I am at UEA, so that's why. Yes I want to promote my university but that's because it means a lot to me to be here. I didn't start my undergrad at UEA, I was at a different uni and got very unwell. UEA gave me a second chance to do my degree so I'm really passionate. Also the academic writing the new book on Edward the Confessor was my lecturer and a great guy so I want to promote him. Not sure why you're really taking issue with promoting a uni if someone is asking for a good uni for history? If you want to check I'm genuine feel free to go look at my face on the UEA History Society committee on instagram or Facebook, I'm the one with the dog.

What's your point?

My point was that the user was here to falsely promote a University in the guise of trying to help someone, the fact that he's got the University name in his username is irrelevant. It could've said 'UEA IS THE BEST' and it still wouldn't be relevant.

That's not true - with BBB the OP could get onto lots of good History degrees at places like UEA, Kent and others mentioned by swanseajack1

No point running up another 9k of debt doing an unnecessary foundation year

Hi there, we offer a BA History at Goldsmiths with BBB entry requirements! It's a really interesting programme because it allows you to take on a work placement in the field while you study to help prepare for your future career. For details about student placements and future History careers, see here.

If you have any questions about the programme, I'm always happy to help
