Hi there, me and 4 other friends are planning on going to Barcalona on Holiday in July. 3 of us will be 18 years old however 2 people will be 17, can anyone let us know if this will be a problem when entering clubs or bars? I've heard that spain is pretty lax when it comes to checking ID but as Barcalona is a major city i'm worried this won't be the case and that some of our group will be left behind when entering bars or clubs. Any responses appreciated

The legal drinking age is 18 so your 17 year old friends would run the same risk as they would if they went on a night out in the UK.

No one can genuinely tell you for certain. I suppose it would depend if they look 17 too as then they’re likely to get ID’d whereas if they looked much older then o doubt they’d bat an eyelid. They’ve got a 50/50 chance at the end of the day.
