Anyone know how to answer this question??Explain how a diffraction grating produces light and dark lines on a screen

Waves diffract after being sent through the difrraction grating - the bright spots are where there is constructive interference between waves with a path difference of n lambda. Where the path difference is not n lambda, there is destructive superposition/interference (dark)
