Hi,

is there a legal UK age requirement to renting a car? The reason why I'm asking is because, every UK company is saying 21+ with one year driving licence experience. I was so happy as I've passed my driving test three days ago and I can't even rent a car for a day

I was just thinking as I wanted to know if it was legally 21+ or if the car insurance companies are choosing to make it 21+.

I'm 20 yrs old, male and I've only had my licence for three days.

Thanks

Yes - it's 18.

They won't give you one until you're 21 (or usually 25) because of insurance.
