8 planes have been out on lockdown due to suspected coronavirus cases, one was a flight from San Francisco (not an “infected area”). Hopefully all will be false alarms and the cases will just be colds or flus.

Perhaps international travel bans should be put in place sooner rather than later where more damage would be done to the economy due to a much bigger, currently preventable, pandemic. Of course public health should come before the economy anyway, but I don’t see that happening.

Theres not really much point in that though. The governments own special report (several of them actually) all catagorically state that travel bans are useless and will, at best, just mildly delay the infections arrival.
Plus, given this particular one isnt especially dangerous shooting the economy in the foot by banning air travel seems more than slightly silly.
