I have been following Medicine offers and feel being in state school puts you in a better position as the being in contextual list lowers grade requirements .
So what is the point in being in a state Grammar School I wonder
apart from better personal statement, better working environment
Any thoughts?

Well, you just listed them. Being in a better working environment than a bad comprehensive ideally facilitates better grades which means you shouldn't need a contextual offer. Whereas someone who goes to a low performing comprehensive, who perhaps didn't have that environment, is unable to show their full ability.

Does it reflect on personal statement ?
I am in a state grammar can I mention that or will it be unnecessary ?

No, definitely don't mention that. Your PS is about conveying your enthusiasm for the subject you want to study. Where you study your A levels is irrelevant.
