I don’t care about Mount personally but was just saying he’s always going to feature in a Lampard team. He’s to Lampard what Jorginho was to Sarri so you might as well just include him when trying to work out formations lmao.

Think we only have James injured and Kante small hamstring issue but shouldn’t be out too long.

Anyway @bj27 was it you saying we should keep Bakayoko this season? In hindsight that might not have been a bad idea tbf. His first season for us wasn’t good at all but we lack any steel in midfield and he’s actually done well at all his subsequent loans. Mount, Kante, Kovacic, Jorginho, Havertz are all so paperweight. It’s easy for us to be overpowered\overrun in midfield

Sure, until Lampard gets sacked and the new manager comes in promising to Roman that he'll get the best out of Havertz + Werner and then Mount becomes a squad player with less and less minutes until he forces a move to a mid-table club.

Mason Mount is seriously underrated.

Mason Mount is seriously underrated.

you think so? I didn't watch this match because FA cup is nonsense until the quarters but I feel he shouldn't be automatic starter, even if I think he is a good player. However continuity is important, second season syndrome is real in the sense that if there is a slight dip in performance people will change their perspective on a player quickly. People just assume there's progression every year for young players. Anyway it's nice to win matches, maybe that will give us some confidence.

I think he’s a solid enough player and is definitely good enough to be in the squad but he shouldn’t be the first name on the team sheet for Chelsea. He’s got a good mentality and presses well which has elevated him above better players such as Maddison (Grealish too regardless whether it’s MF or Winger) in the eyes of Southgate too. It just depends on the manager I suppose but I doubt if we had a different mgr Mount would be quite as indispensable in the starting lineup for us.

Lampard is funny man, Hudson Odoi at this point should just leave honestly.

No way do I see us not winning today.

We were lucky Fulham went a man down lol. They are a decent enough team as evidenced by their results against Leicester, Liverpool and Spurs and they were well set out to frustrate us.

Will see whether Lampard starts CHO against Leicester before getting too angry but if he doesn’t start then it’s inexcusable. Worse than Sarri in that regard. Callum is our best attacker based on form currently and it’s unfair not to play him just because he’s from the academy and Ziyech and Pulisic cost £100mil. He tracks back nowadays so that can’t be used against him anymore. Lampard is gonna have to show some bravery on this one. He’ll have everyone’s respect.

He won't start against Leicester because it's a big game and Lampard loves doing the 'it worked last match so I'll keep on doing the same tactic until we lose'

Provided no fitness issues the squad will be:

Mendy, James, Silva, Rudiger, Chilwell, Kante, Kovacic, Mount, Ziyech, Pulisic, Giroud.

I would say Azpi but he's 32 and 2 games in a row may be too much. Rudiger performed well from when I watched today, seemed assured.

Nah this time he said he picked the team with Leicester in mind. He knows he needs to rotate. One of Ziyech/Pulisic will be dropped for CHO I’m sure (this guy better not give me an L on Tuesday) Kante and Havertz to join Mount in MF. Azpi only playing coz Reece has been injured. I would imagine he would come back in as he was on the bench so he’s recovered from his injury.

Rudiger wasn’t amazing. There were a few moments that first half where Fulham could’ve done us damage and Rudiger was at fault. Like I said, we were lucky Fulham went a man down but Zouma should be starting ahead of Rudiger if we actually want to be serious. I’d also play Tammy instead of Giroud

Lol so Lampard really willing to let Tomori leave for £25M.

Or tbh he probably knows Milan are cheap *******s and won't actually pay the option to buy. We're going to regret this if Milan end up signing tbh.

Speedy defender that is good with the ball.

Whatever really done with this ****. We don't use Hudson Odoi despite him being one of our best attackers but spent all that time using Werner when he was in bad form on the left wing. Season's a write off, we'll probably make top 4 because nobody is able to be consistently good.

Tbh I watched second half where he looked assured so I'll trust your word on Rudiger. Also before I was like CHO ain't good on the right but tbh with his crossing and his ability to beat players on the dribble he can play there just as well, even if he is right foot heavy he is able to cut inside on the right and go on the outside to whip crosses.

Chelsea making me feel apathetic. I would like to see Havertz start vs Leicester, that's the kind of game to start his career here which obviously has been scuppered, getting covid and losing fitness is no joke in this league tbh.

I think we should beat leicester but can go anyway tbh if we're not scoring chances. Abraham over Giroud for Leicester yeah would work. Timo despite his miss has value off the bench due to his ability to float positions.

I’m actually starting to think CHO is more effective on the right you know. He’s just improved a lot and it would be a shame not to see him play more. Imagine how more developed he would be now if he got the same minutes as Saka at Arsenal? I have a feeling we are going to see an improvement in his minutes though. He’s producing way too much for Lampard to ignore.

Agree about Havertz for tomorrow’s game. Kante is out injured so I’d go with Mount, Kova and Kai as the 3 or Gilmour for Kova. That Ndidi, Maddison and Tielemans midfield is no joke and it’s imperative that Jorginho is not seen on the field at any point otherwise we are ****ed. Werner to come in last 20 mins whilst their players are tired would be perfect. Even better if Leicester are chasing the game and we can just hit them on the counter.

Also, regarding Tomori tbh I won’t be surprised if he’s done at Chelsea and I’m not that gutted about it tbh. Yes he’s fast and can pass but he’s still prone to blunders and his height probably works against him.

We are going to get a starting CB next summer to play with Zouma/Silva. Guehi is very highly rated and seems to have a higher upside than Tomori. Ampadu can also play CB and Sarr is having an okay season at Porto so one of those three can be the 4th CB next season if we sell both Rudiger and Christensen, which leaves no room for Tomori who wants to start games.

With height he's taller than Thiago Silva so I don't see why that should be an issue, maybe the blunders but first season in prem and Christensen makes more blunders and we gave him many chances. Zouma while consistent now and should be starting when possible also made a few blunders for us last season too.

Guehi highly rated but not proven so what's the point?

We also need to get off this Ampadu stuff, it's clear he's not it for us, Sheffield United don't help but like he doesn't have enough games to improve and plays at a struggling sheffield united team which doesn't help his case either. Realistically Ampadu should be doing a championship loan. Sarr I guess makes sense because he has experience in good leagues at the top level, so selling Tomori to bring in Sarr I can take.

Every defender has blunders now and again but Zouma is better and contributes more aerially so he’s always gonna be ahead. Yes, Tomori is not shorter than Silva but Silva has the experience to get in good positions that don’t leave him too exposed a lot. Tomori is not there yet. Obv just speculating. No one really knows and even some of the people that have sources inside the club just keep saying there must be more to Tomori’s fall in Lampard’s eyes but nothing has come out yet.

Guehi is pretty much being talked about in the same way Reece James was. Yes, unproven but everything suggests they can easily come in and fight for their place and Reece, Mount and Tammy have shown it’s possible to come from the Championship and play.

Ampadu is better than the Championship. He’ll probably get another PL loan next season at a slightly better team. His biggest issue is that it’s still not clear where his best position is and that’s going to hold him back.

Yeah I get you on Tomori, not end of the world but sad to see him go because I think he'll do well in the future.

Nice with Guehi, could come in I guess but wouldn't make first team so probably needs another loan, btw he is also shorter than Tomori from a google search. May have grown a bit but it says he's 182cm.

Ampadu is but he needs games consistently at a club that wins games. I personally would like him to work out at the club because it stops the need of spunking money for Rice but I don't see it at the moment. At least in a championship club he can shine, get confidence. Remember that Abraham went to Swansea in the PL then he went to Aston Villa in the championship, it was clear that Tammy was premier league quality but he was in a poor team that created no chances. It's different to a Zouma who was clearly PL quality and just was loaned due to the injury.

Yeah good point. Ampadu should’ve been loaned out 2 seasons ago and then last season gone to a different team maybe even Championship as you say. By now we would know whether he is ready and can be a Chelsea player or not. As it is, he’s 2 years behind on his development and if Lampard is still here in summer then Rice is pretty much inevitable and even more so if Kante keeps getting injured.

Anyone else watching this mess?? This is the team I would have gone for aside from Rudiger and yet we are still being outplayed out of the park. A few bright moments in attack but not enough against a good Leicester side. Smh

Reply 797

Lampard can go tonight don't care. after nonsense like this.

all this attacking talent and we can't score goals, watching Abraham **** up basic touches, our midfield not doing through balls to get past the high line.

Clearly lacking in confidence but we're conceding such easy goals.

James at fault for second goal, first goal collective defensive error. we suck man

Chelsea constantly play like a team who’ve never played together before ... plenty of individual talent but nobody ever has a clue what their team mates are doing 😂

Reply 799

There was a lot of shrugging and gesturing to teammates. The communication is so bad. Players blaming each other for basic things like we didn’t you spot my run etc but did any of them even care. Pulisic and Mount were alright but things are just not clicking everywhere on the pitch. Yes, Reece should’ve marked Maddison for second goal but Rudiger’s actions in all that leave a lot to be desired.

Lampard has been bad and made some very bad decisions lately but the team is not balanced anyway. Our midfield is **** especially without Kante. How amazing is Ndidi btw? He’s exactly the kind of player we should be looking for in midfield. Defensively great, can pass, is composed. We don’t have a player like that.

And yeah Mount is good but you look at Maddison tonight and Mount can’t play like that.
