Things to put in an English Lit Personal Statement

Just a bit of background:
- I am starting an Access to HE Diploma in Humanities and Social Sciences in September, as I was unable to complete A-Levels due to health issues.
- I will be 20 when I apply, so some universities will consider me a mature student, others will not.
- I have done thorough research into universities and their requirements, and am happy with my choices.

I understand that the majority of applicants have completed A-Levels, and therefore may have an easier time with writing their personal statement. However, I understand that as a mature student/someone who has not completed A-Levels, that universities look for both grades and life experience.

English Literature is a difficult one for life experience, and I would like to take these months prior to the Access course to obtain new experiences to build my personal statement. I have joined an online book club, but I cannot think of much more - I know why I want to study the subject, but what have I to show for it?

Any input is greatly appreciated, thank you

I actually loved the way you wrote this.
I understood full of what you said.
I’m jealous, I want to be in your shoes right now.
With this subject you’ll be able to show the world what you can do.
I can see you’re very smart, probably more than you know. Plus you are very good at studying ENglish literature.
