My school requires all year 12s to get at least a week worth of work experience related to their subjects. I’m very much interested in English literature and after researching, I know that there’s a chance that I can get work experience if I directly email publishers or companies like that, I’ve also been told I can email my local newspaper company. I just wondered if anyone on here has managed to actually get work experience in publishing, especially considering I’m only 17. If there’s any specific companies (preferably in London) that anyone knows will be definitely willing to take on a 17 year old then that would great

Just make sure your application is well written and focused. get it checked. Do your research to id target companies and apply to named people. Lazy applications will just get trash canned. I would suggest if you are applying to publishers then the emphasis is on publishing.
