I'm a prospective UoM student for entry 2020/2021! Is the ratio of international and local students and sex even in these halls? Currently looking into catered halls, and are not too far from the campus which Ive found out that both these halls would suit me! Which hall would better suit me (I'm a international student but I'd love to socialise with everyone!). Which hall is safer and has nice library and food?

Thank you for your query.

We aim to have the same ratio of males and females within each hall, sometimes this isn't possible and some halls may have more females than males depending on transfers within the halls during term time.

We have 24hr security and CCTV in all our halls and around each campus.

Each hall offers different facilities, some have libraries, some have gyms etc. Please read the information on each individual hall via our website.

More information on our catering packages can be found on our website:
http://www.accommodation.manchester....accommodation/

Unfortunately, we cannot advise you on your choice of hall as every student has differing personal requirements; however, the halls located closest to your department would be those within the City Campus.

The Victoria Park campus is approximately 10 minutes walking distance from the main University campus and Fallowfield campus is approximately 20 minutes away via public transport.

All information regarding our halls of residence can be found on our website: www.accommodation.manchester.ac.uk

In the self-catered halls we provide full kitchen appliances i.e. cooker, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle etc.

In the catered halls we offer the same appliances, however, they do not have an cooker, they only have a microwaves ovens with hops on the top for cooking.

Our catering team are able to cater to most dietary requirements.

We offer as standard an English, Halal and Vegetarian menu and due to popular demand have introduced vegan and gluten free meals.

If you are allocated to a catered hall, the cost of meals is included within the total accommodation fees. If you are allocated to a self-catered hall, then you can purchase a meal plan from one of the catered halls within your campus.

Catered packages can be purchased at a cost of £5 per day from the catered halls in Victoria Park and Fallowfield Campuses. However, if you wish to purchase a meal plan for the full academic year the cost of these plans are different depending on which hall you live and whether you have a 5 day or 7 day meal package.

Please be advised that we only provide catering services for 33 weeks out of the academic year as we do not provide catering over the Christmas or Easter vacation periods, the cost has already been reduced for that period.

The halls within the City campus are 5 minutes walking distance from the main University, however, Victoria Park is only a 10 minute walk from City campus and Fallowfield is approximately 20minutes away via public transport due to traffic during peak hours.

Kind regards

Thank you for your query.

The application form for the 2020/21 academic session is now available online; the application deadline is the 31st August 2020.

You will be required to enter 5 hall options in no particular order on the application form. Please be advised that you are NOT guaranteed your accommodation options, you are only guaranteed a room within a hall of residence.

All information regarding our halls of residence can be found on our website. Once you have read the information, please apply by completing the online application form http://www.accommodation.manchester....cations-online

First, you should create an e-accommodation account by clicking on “REGISTER”. You will then be asked to enter your University ID Number, your family name (surname) and date of birth. When you click on “CONTINUE”, providing you have entered the correct information, your details will be
displayed on the screen. If you do not enter the correct information, you will receive the error message “STUDENT RECORD NOT FOUND”. You will then need to click on “CONTINUE” to proceed. If any of the details on this screen are incorrect, you will need to contact your Academic Department and they will make the changes. Please note that all fields at this stage of the application are mandatory and should be completed. Once you have done this, click on “CREATE ACCOUNT”.

Please make sure you enter the correct information at all times to avoid any errors and please ensure that you complete all the mandatory fields on Pages 1 and 2 before proceeding to the options on Page 3. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk (*). If you do not fill in the details correctly on Pages 1 and 2, e.g. you select the incorrect length of stay or student type, you will not be able to select any options on Page 3.

Please note all correspondence from the Accommodation Office will be sent via email to the preferred email address you entered when completing your online application form and it is your responsibility to ensure you update this if your email address changes.

We look forward to welcoming you to Manchester.

Kind regards

Hello! Thank you so much for helping us with choosing accommodation. When it comes to food: What if we choose a non-catered hall in City Campus? Can we buy catered packages from let's say Dalton- Elis? I am probably choosing a non catered hall in either Victoria Park or City Campus. However, I would like to be able to eat some days in the dining hall. Do I have this option and, is there a relevant link from the uni's website?
Thank you!
