yep ,, maybe coz i am oncampus ,,,there is something wrong in streaming network
naaaah ,,, bad luck
Anyway... to cheer up and to keep the discussion going, I noticed that there are plenty of cupboards in the kitchen. Don't know if all the kitchens are of the same size, have equal number of storing space etc, but they should right?

Also, them being lockable is a plus -I want to buy locks for mine. Would that offend my flatmates though?...

I realized that not all kitchens have the same size !! IKb ktchen pic is smaller than the one in brunel website !! I am afraid that maybe not all the rooms will have the same size and desgin ! Do u think that 17 blocks are copy paste from each other with no difference ,, maybe !
Regarding locks ,,I think at the begininng ,,u should lock ur stuff ,,, but then maybe u will knw ur flatmates more and maybe it will be ok then ! My opinion

You can leave your room door open as long as you're in the vacinity. Obviously it needs to be locked if lots of strangers are around, or if you go out. I never had any problems with security, thankfully.

Ermmm.. actually it seems to me they are of the same size. When I saw the pic on the site I thought it might even be the same kitchen as in IKB's photo...

I just think that everything seems a little bigger on the accommodation site. It's different having a professional photographer shooting the place for advertising.

There was one kitchen on the video though which looked smaller and didn't seem to have a table and chairs. But since that is impossible -all kitchens on Isambard have table and chairs- I think it was Γ shaped and we couldn't see "the whole picture".

Common sense says all the buildings of the Isambard complex are of the same standards. And everything we've seen so far (except the beds- still worried about the beds:s-smilie: ) looks great.

We have no reason to believe otherwise. And the bathrooms must be of a decent size too.

Can't wait to move into my new room:biggrin:
They are drawing another ballot for returning 2nd and 3rd years after term begins.

Even though I have a place of my own in Uxbridge, I am still on the waiting list for campus because it's cheaper! I wanna live in Isambard Halls! :woo:

Fingers crossed.
Seems they didn't manage to give away all rooms.
I hope you get in IKB :top:
I got my alevel results yesterday and got into brunel!.. but how long does it take for them to contact me about accommodation?

You contact them!!! Get into the accommodation web-site and choose a preference of en-suite or standard room.

If you state a preference before September 1st, you will be allocated a room on campus.

If you haven't got a student number yet, you'd better call Admissions and then the Accommodation office to sort things out.
Good luck!
I thought you were only guaranteed a place on campus if Brunel was your firm choice? Insurance and clearing people are not priority. But Bristolgirl, I am sure you'll be fine. If you haven't done so yet, make sure you talk to them on the phone or by email first thing on Monday morning and explain your situation.
Hmmm... I thought all first year undergrads and postgrads were guaranteed a place on campus as long as they stated a preference untill September 1st.

But you might be right.
Yeh i had put my preference down about a month ago!.. but it was my insurance choice so maybe thats the delay?.. however both my firm and insurance were at brunel anyway?

Results have only been out for less than 48 hours. I am sure some people who listed Brunel as their firm, but didn't get the grades, will leave behind any empty room - for me.

I hope so anyway.
Yeah...all the rooms for Isambard have been allocated. It's full now so fingers crossed!...i know this because i rang up the accomodation office to ask.

I put Isambard as a first choice on my preference form, but got maria grey instead...oh well, i'm sure it will be fine!

I think they are putting a lot of postgrads in Isambard.
