I would say I was looking forward to having credit/debit cards , generally having my own money.

Being able to enjoy some peace&quiet in my own home, go out alone and end contact with all the most unpleasant/unreasonable persons.

Having my first legal drink.
Ha, I got sorta barred from my local 3 days after my 18th birthday because I had already been drinking in there for nearly 3 years. My Dad dobbed me in. 'Why are you out tonight, gjd sr?'

'Oh it was gjd's 18th on Tuesday so we're having a few jars'

Landlady's husband didn't serve me for 3 months, but she did so it was ok in the end

Yes, I really used to look forward to being married as well. I know my favourite relative my Nana (she died when I was 10) was looking forward to it too. She never lived to see the day and I am glad, as my husband was beyond awful.

I hope your experience will be much, much better.

I look forward to buying very own game console like Nintendo switch and PS4, and wearing the clothes i want. Most importantly being my true self and being free to be vulnerable and emotional...however in my current situation, im not allowed to do such things. wish me well guys!
