Hi, I’m looking to use Uplearn next year but I’m not sure if you can pick more than one subject on the same membership? Can anyone with a membership help?

Hey! I’ve just signed up for A-Level Physics (OCR A) and Maths (Edexcel) because I am not prepared for my exams 😭. I received a scholarship and they were able to add the two subjects. You can just manually add them or email/chat to one of the advisors and they should sort it out. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hi Ibrahim_m786 - you are able to pick as many subjects as you like. At present, we offer a discount on additional subjects.

If you're in Y12, you can also buy courses for access until after exams 2021 - this is beneficial as your predicted grades for university may be impacted by your performance in mocks this year, so it's worth getting started earlier to ensure you're not fighting an uphill battle later.

Hi, I'm thinking about getting uplearn. Could you tell me how you found it for Physics and if it actually helped you get an A. Cheers

Hi there, sorry for the late reply. Due to Covid-19 I ended up with a C. However, I did find UpLearn really helpful in explaining key concepts such as projectiles (hadn’t no clue what I was doing with them haha). I found making notes form uplearn much better than the ocr textbook. They really simplify stuff and the review questions are super helpful. If I started from the beginning of year 12 I believe it would have made a greater impact. I started around January of year 13 (when I was getting U/D/E’s) so I was quite pleased to come out with a C. Although if I had taken the exams I’m sure I could have gotten higher. Any other questions just give me a shout

I'd recommend looking into Snap Revise as well to consider all of your options.

Hi, When did you start Uplearn for Economics and how long did it take you to get 90% in all the 4 themes. If I do an hour a day, will I finish all the themes by January. Also what grade did you get in the end. Thanks

Doesn't Uplearn Maths take really long to complete and isn't most of it waffle. Dont you think doing textbook questions and practice papers would be more useful. Also would you recommend doing old spec maths papers.

I started at around November when my Economics teacher recommended me to use it after a parents evening. I completed all the videos and questions which makes you reach 70%, where it gets capped.
I got to 70% in March before exams got cancelled. I was hoping to blitz the exam papers after March which I would have got 90%. To get higher you need to do the practice exam papers which allows you to go over 90%. I got an A in the end (I didn't write the exams) but I got A's and B's regularly on class tests. How long it takes depends on how many questions you get right in the videos. Otherwise you have to correct your mistakes, which takes a bit longer. There is a progress tracker which tells you when you will finish the course at the current pace you're going. That will be more useful, but I think you can get it done by Jan. For me I didn't make any revision material even once, I did it all in Uplearn as it tracks your progress. If you have any subject doubts just ask them. Things like graphs and all are well explained on it. Hope this helps.

Yes, don't buy it for Maths, total waste of time. Videos are complete waffle and sometimes start from the basics. Also, questions on it are nothing like the exam, which are more difficult. Literally wasted hours on it for nothing. Textbook and practice papers are your best friend for Maths. Try and do as many as you can. I would use old spec maths papers as well and use the new spec papers later but yes the old spec is similar. Uplearn is very good for Economics, but failed with the Maths version in my opinion.

Hi etienne26, Did you do all the exam how to's at the end of the course or were you were going through them throughout. I kind of find it difficult to do them while going through the course since I can't remember all the points and am unable to develop them fully to achieve full marks. Please tell me what your advice would be.

No I didn't do them although I have done one or two. I would do them after completing a section/topic e.g Trigonometry or Differentiation. That way you will know what to do and what concepts you need.

Did you do this for Economics too or was your approach different to the Economics exam how to's. For example there's one 15 marker exam how to for specialisation and division of labour
