Jordan Peterson

This is less of a question/message more of a recommendation. Jordan Peterson is a clinical psychologist whose ideas have been very influential and acclaimed in the past few years. Peterson proposes very effective ways of how people should treat themselves and overcome everyday difficulties and obstacles-he has helped thousands and maybe millions metaphorically stand on their own two feet and I find his methods to be very contemporary and useful. For instance he suggests that the company you keep should represent the best parts of you and your core values-which I find is spot on-you shouldn't have time for people who bring you down and make you feel bad about yourself and who you are-because this only promotes a feeling of depression and hopelessness. I'm curious whether anybody here has read or is familiar with his views and wants to share what his guidance has done to benefit you.

He peddles nothing that is new.
Nothing new maybe, except nobody else was saying it and definitely not on a world stage.

He's very ill at the moment, I wish him well.
He has many many hours of talks and lectures free on YT and other platforms.
The left despise him for some reason.

Imagine missing the point this much. His whole point is that we shouldn't follow the identitarian lefts pseudo religious zealotry for "progressive" ideals as there is a lot of usefull knowledge, especially for men, held in traditionalism.

His ideas are nothing that has not been said before.

He's the poor man's Kant.

He's one of the very few popular academics who actually offers answers to many of the problems lots of young men in the West have (even if these answers are nothing new). As opposed to slating young men, which seems to be the past time of a lot of other academics.

I don't claim to be original, unlike a one Mr Peterson.

Ok
I don't rate his cold turkey approach to benzo addiction.
He offers some interesting opinions and a firm rebuttal of what he terms "leftist ideology".
The reaction to autographed copies of his books with handwritten messages is a good way of identifying the more subtle socialist/marxist revolutionary types.
Normally academics who discretely collect "communism is futurism" banners, trots and tankies; I've found 11 since 2014.

You can't really say anything that hasn't been said before unless you try making your own language.
