Can someone help me answer the question for AQA GCSE history:
In what ways were the lives of ordinary people affected by the growth in consumer society in the USA during the 1920s? Explain your answer. [8 marks]

Ordinary People
1. People were able to find more jobs due to businesses expanding.
2. People were able to buy consumer goods more cheaply.
3. People could even invest in the booming stock market and get back good returns.

Keeping in mind that other ordinary people in society suffered as a result. Farmers lost a lot of money due to overproduction of crops and workers in old industries (fishing and ship building) lost jobs because they failed to compete with mass production. Black people still also faced injustice from the KKK, which was extremely popular during the mid 1920s.
