Rule of indices, you add powers when its multiplication, you subtract powers when its divide.

Please help me. I
So, you can use the second indice rule used in the picture to do question j.

So firstly, ignore the 7 and the 10, you'll add them back in later, when you do d^-3 divided by d^-5, you're doing -3 - -5, so it'll become d^2 on the top and you've gotten rid of the d on the bottom, then add the 7 and the 10 back in, so the final answer will be (7d^2)/10

think of 7/10 and (d^-3)/(d^-5) separately

then [with the d bit] do (-3) - (-5) = 2

therefore the answer is 0.7 d^2
Reply 7
So you - them?
-3 - -5?

Minus when you divide, add when you multiply.

Imagine there is a power of 1 there, so think of it as 3s^1 and then you can do it
