For Computer Science, does Cambridge take any notice of personal projects?

Say in my spare time I make something fairly complex/impressive that uses a lot of the ideas & techniques taught in the course, is it worth mentioning (and will it increase my chances of being accepted)? And if so, where would I mention it (I'm guessing my personal statement but I'm not sure).

Also, would it be considered pretentious if I included a link to the code, like a Github repo? Or would they not look at that?

Any replies are appreciated
I’m not sure about the link, but that is an extremely good thing to put on your application. In fact that the exact type of thing that universities will look at in a candidate and particularly Oxford and Cambridge (if you have the grades to back it up). You would put that on your personal statement, but it shows dedication and commitment to your field outside of the classroom. It makes you stand out from all the other candidates.
