Hi, I transferred to the school where they do international A level not long ago. However, most of the kids took P1 (pure mathematics 1) in January and I couldn't since I changed school after Jan. I know that I can do retakes but I don't want to risk my grades as I want to apply to Oxford (I heard they don't really like retakes and I need to provide some reasons if I resit the exam). Do you guys think it's possible that I only take P2 exam this year (yr 12) and take P1 exam next January?

There are no rules about what you have to take when. Talk to your school about the best plan for you.
