I am applying to study abroad for a year and recently accepted an offer from my home uni to take a placement at two universities. I have received welcome emails from the partner universities asking me to apply and am confused whether or not I have the space as I thought I had already accepted it and am now being asked to 'apply.' Can anybody help? Thanks

Your home uni nominates you to study abroad at the partners. The partners require you to apply as a formality so that you're on their records - this way, you'll be able to register at the uni when you arrive (getting your student card, registering for modules, etc) and apply for visas.

In almost every case you'll get accepted formally by the partners since they have an agreement with your home uni, but this doesn't necessarily guarantee that you'll be able to take modules there that satisfy the requirements of your home uni.
