As some people here on TSR might know, I have been having sleeping difficulties for some time now, which means I am often up late at night. I've had tendencies towards sleeping issues for many years, but they've never really caused any real impact until the last few months.

I thought I'd make this thread for somewhere to hang out when sleep is evading me, and for others to come hang out in if they want to (hi fellow sufferers!).

How do you guys try to overcome sleeping difficulties?

(Note to those who don't understand sleep issues: no, 'just going to bed earlier' or 'having good sleep habits' don't necessarily help!)

Indeed. What are we defining as late.

actuakkt given what happened last time I was deprived of sleep so you really want me anywhere near you? 😂

Past, say, 12.30am. I should also note here for the record that I'm an hour ahead so that what is 12.30am for me is 11.30pm for you folks in the UK.

Hmm maybe not

Well. I’m still awake!
Today’s been a weird day for me, it’s like the enormity of the impact of Covid-19 on my life just hit me.

Hey there 🙂

Is it worth taking if it doesn’t work?
I’ve taken a melatonin tablet myself tonight. I like that melatonin is a hormone rather than a drug, so there’s no risk of dependency.

Does the melatonin help you and how much do you take? Do you get it on prescription?

If I’m in a normal mood it helps, but I find if I’m stressed then it doesn’t really have much of an effect. I just bought it at a pharmacy, though this was in France and I’ve never looked for it here.

It’s one tablet each night you want to use it. It takes about 20-30 minutes to take effect.
