Could be 24 hours, could be 3-4 days. Depends how strong or specialist your perscription is. I have really strong glasses so mine take 3-4 days, if you have a fairly normal perscription then it should be 24 hours.

If you go to Vision Express they can do it in an hour.

My eye test at Specsavers was on a Friday and my glasses were ready for collection a week the following Monday, ie 9 days. Just a regular pair with no special lens requirements.

My particular branch is always exceedingly busy however, so maybe that accounts for the delay.

Mine has always been a week after the eye exam.

Damn, I was hoping to get a "you should have gone to Specsavers" line somewhere in here but nobody left me any scope.

Oh wait, I got it in!

I got my glasses from David Clulow (eye test at D&A) and it took 2 hours to make them up

But my spare pair took a week as they had to order in one of my lenses

Mine took a week too. But we dont have a branch un in Shetland. They come up every now and then with all their equiptment and stuff and set it up in a hall. They are usually very busy. The optitions in Shetland are a little expensive and there isn't much variety in the frames. I got buy one get one free. I was told by the optition who saw to me that it could take up to two weeks for me to get them. But then again they had to post my perscription down to Aberdeen, then they would have posted me my glasses.... :s-smilie:.

At my Specsavers branch, they normally ask you to come back in a week later, but in my experience, they normally have them ready maybe a day or two earlier. It's just a case of popping in and asking.

They dont take that long to make ( I work in a Specsavers lab occasionally :proud:) 1 hour tops. Its just if they have a back log then obviously it takes longer. We normally say 24hrs for "urgent" cases, i.e have contact lenses but no spex, 3-5 days normally, 10 days for rimless and 14 days + for bi/vari focal- although that probably isnt applicable to you.

It alse depends on whether we have to order the lenses in, i.e thinned lenses, or lenses that require specialy coatings fo example transitions or UV. It also takes longer (although not much longer) if the frames are "supra" or half rims if you will.

Basically 3-5 days if there isnt a backlog, you dont require ordered in lenses, and if you dont have a rimless frame.
But the dispenser will advise you 7 days, people tend to get annoyed if you say x time and they arent ready, so they always give themselves a bit longer.

I hope this helps

Blumming heck, I've NEVER had to wait more than a day in my Specsavers.

Infact, most of the time they've been ready before I can get into the branch again...

I had my eye test last Friday and got mine today. At the store I go to its always a week wait but it varies from store to store

I dont think my branch should be that busy, its a small town.

We dont have a D&A or Vision express here.

About a week usually for me.

I didn’t collect my glasses within the week because I was busy, so they still give you your glasses if you collect them a week late? I went to Specsavers btw

Did you wear your Specsavers glasses when you checked the date of the post you're replying to?
