I have a really embarrassing story and I can’t do anything about it. I don’t know why I did it and I hate myself about it. I’ve 100% totally been innocent my entire life but this one thing at such a small age I did makes me hate myself.

I am eighteen right now. When I was eleven or twelve, I was bored and had an IPOD to myself and I was randomly exploring apps like KIK. My memory is a bit vague from that time but there was some platform where a stranger messaged me. I was generally curious what the app is about and I replied. And that stranger started talking to me on that texting app. It was probably KIK. Suddenly, the stranger started convincing me to send me my pictures. I was confused and I asked them why and they would just convince me to send it. I wasn’t that small I should’ve known it was wrong. I did have my senses I could’ve just left it. I DON’T KNOW WHY I DIDN’T LEAVE IT😭. I did say no first but he would convince me. I sent them. I don’t think they were nudes I think I didn’t have clothes on but I did have my bra and panty on. I can’t remember but even those are inappropriate pictures, especially coming from a religious background so anyone finding that out would get me into trouble.

To this day, I’ve been contacted via Facebook and Snapchat multiple times during the past years being threatened that my nude photos would get leaked unless I send a picture of my self. Basically what happened was a random account on Snapchat contacted me and sent me my pictures. He wasn’t sure if that is me so he asked me “are these your pictures since you were young?”. I pretended it is not me. and I think it worked. As in this happened 3 years ago. When I said it’s not me, I lied and wrote “it can’t be me, I’m 30.... I can’t be 12 just a few years ago.”. That person contacting me pretended that he isn’t the one threatening me but saw my pictures online on a website and wants to help me. He said the only way he will help me is if I admit it is me otherwise he will leak my pictures to everyone I know. I told him it is not me and I blocked him. A year later someone a different account messaged me on Snapchat saying they’ve my photos. I blocked without replying. I didn’t get contacted since 2 years now so I don’t know if that person is waiting for me to grow up before he threatens me, or if he decided to leave me alone. I’m not at all the kind of person who can even think of sending any nude kinda pictures to someone, but I was dumb as a kid I have no idea what was going on in my mind I am so angry.

I am 18 now. I’m scared that now that I’m an adult what if that person contacts me again or threatens me. What if when I’m older and have children or stuff, I’m threatened then? I have a boyfriend and I haven’t told him either, no one knows. I’m so scared. Do you guys think this person has moved on if he hasn’t threatened me since the past 2 years or messaged me?

What should I do, I’m scared. Everyone who knows me thinks of me as the most innocent person ever Cz that’s who I am. But for that one day when I was small I don’t know what happened. I can’t speak for myself that time. I wish my parents never gave me an IPOD when I was small. I didn’t know what was what then.

Please help, I’m scared. what if this person ever contacts me for money or something. I’m scared and I don’t know what to do, I need someone to help me or advice me. I want to know if you guys think there’s a chance this person won’t contact me or ruin my life. I want to live an innocent and peaceful life, I don’t want my innocent image to be ruined 😭

It is called “Revenge Porn” and you contact the police and given these are underage photographs of you, whoever is harassing you is looking at a serious prison sentence.

How do I report this person if I don’t know who this person is? When this person messaged me on my Facebook account, I deleted that facebook account and made a new one incase he ever tries to send my pictures to my friends list on Facebook.

The messages I got from him on Snapchat were him showing me proof he has my pictures. I lied to him and denied that those pictures aren’t of me(so that he can’t threaten me if he thinks he got the wrong person. My name isn’t that common tho so chances are he wouldn’t have been fooled).

After that, I didn’t get contacted
Since 2 years now I think

Another random account did once add me on Snapchat a few months ago and replied to my Snapchat story and said “nice” or something. I asked “who are you?” And he just sent a “”. So I never found out if he’s the same person or not.

I don’t think I’d be able to contact the police here. I live with my parents I still go to Highschool. My parents are the ones who drive me everywhere. I live in a country like Pakistan where the police won’t care. Also, I won’t have proof. as in, I don’t have this persons Facebook account or snapchat accounts because when I got those messages 2 years ago I was so scared I just blocked and deleted.

I think about this every few weeks and get scared again that what if some day someone tries leaking them.

I go to university in Canada or USA in a few months. The police system there must be somewhere I could get help from. But for that I would need to wait till this person contacts me again right? Because I don’t have any proof on my phone anymore.

But what if it’s too late when this person contacts me next and he sends these pictures to my family before I get to even contact the police?

You are the victim here if your family can’t see that they are not much good.

Do you know which country the perpetrator is in? If they email you, check the IP address in the header of the message .

Possibly contact Interpol if you can. Indecent images of minors is illegal pretty much everywhere.

Unfortunately I don’t know which country he is in I don’t have any information about him, he is anonymous to me. The most I knew was his fake Facebook and Snapchat account he messaged me from, which I don’t have anymore. All that was going on in my mind when that account messaged me was that I need to pretend that he got the wrong person so he leaves me alone and maybe forgets. Part of me thinks it could’ve worked since he didn’t do anything yet and it’s been 2 years since he contacted me, and the pictures are from 6 years ago.

But the other part of me worries that he was waiting for me to become 18 so I’m not a minor anymore.

Do people usually wait years before threatening someone with their nudes? Or if someone hasn’t yet then are the chances that they must’ve left me alone?

I can’t go to the police without any proof right? All I’ll have is a story to tell them and no extra details for them to help me. I do have this one Snapchat username whom I mentioned about in my previous reply who replied to my Snapchat story and when i asked him who he is he said “” which sounded fishy to me but couldve easily been someone else so I’m not sure if that ones the same.

My family would help me if they found out but they would be so mad at me for doing what I did. And I could explain my family the story, but if these pictures got leaked I won’t be able to share my story to every single person whom the pictures got leaked to. My life would be over, my boyfriend would probably not want to stay with me anymore either, I don’t know.

I just want to know what you think are the chances of my pictures being leaked considering the time that has been past, and the fact that I tried convincing him that I’m the wrong person?

Those photographs were when you were a minor correct? That makes them indecent images of a child. Which means anyone who handles or even views those images is looking at a prison sentence.

If they get uploaded online you won’t have to worry about trying to take them down, the police will do that for you.

Report anything of this nature to Interpol. You might not think they can catch them but they caught Matthew Falder.

I'm a little lost here...
How has the person managed to find you if you literally contacted them on a social media chat years ago? I'm assuming you hadn't told them your real name or anything.

Was your face in any of these pictures?

It doesn’t matter. It is indecent images of children the one thing that the police are good at tackling (because it is internationally illegal).

Revenge porn laws vary massively (and so they should) but indecent images of children is illegal pretty much everywhere.

Generally the police in the UK for example are a bunch of inept clowns but they have highly specialised expert teams to deal with online child exploitation.

If you don’t believe me look at this arrest if a University of Birmingham lecturer Matthew Falder. Falder was a billion times smarter than your average wooden top police but the child exploitation teams still caught him.

It still adds a little more reassurance if her face isn't in the photos, that way at least if they ever were leaked then there's no proof that it's her.

I'm very much aware that indecent images of children are illegal, thank you.

What I mean is that since they are indecent images they are much easier to remove than just “Revenge Porn”.

There is such a massive difference in talent between your average flatfoot and the child online exploitation teams.

If Falder has been doing any other crime other than what he was doing he would have got away with it because most police are that dim.

Yes that’s why I’m so worried... I don’t remember whether I kept a real or fake name, but my face were in the pictures. I don’t know why I was that stupid but I was, I was like eleven I wish I never had any IPOD because I obviously wasn’t smart at all.

Don’t worry if someone does leak them, Interpol will have them removed. The search engines legally have to remove them.

In the video I posted in this thread, an exceptionally intelligent (far far brighter than the person blackmailing you) child abuser Matthew Falder (who had a PhD and was hugely influential in his field) was caught by authorities working together all around the world.

If it happens report it to Interpol, they are very good at this.

Yes they were of when I was a minor.

So if they upload them online even on Facebook or Instagram, they would automatically get removed? What if instead of uploading, he directly messages them to the people I know? If he contacts me and threatens me again I’ll try the Interpol thing, but what if he exposes the picture before contacting me?

Also, I can’t report this to Interpol yet right? Since I don’t have any proof at the moment, and won’t till the person contacts me again.

Also, if I do report it, would my case stay anonymous? Like my parents or anyone else won’t find out through them?

The authorities will remove them, they are legally obligated to.

Google can detect if an image of a child is indecent and would remove it and send the IP address to the authorities.

Yes as a victim of CSE, you would be anonymous.

No one is going to want to blackmail you or bully you about those images. The sentences they would be looking at are very very serious.

If they do bother you, preserve the message and report it to the authorities, any platform you will be using is legally obligated to give the details to the police of the person bothering you.

I think it would be best to tell the police so they can help you. Just write down everything that's happened and when to show the police you have a record. if you get contacted by anyone again then keep the messages and show them to the police then they'll be able to track whoever has been messaging you. You don't know who's been messaging you, it might not be him it could be someone else or more than one person. You just don't know, the police will find out in the end.

OP can also report it anonymously to Interpol. They will ensure all images are removed. This is easier for them than perhaps seeing the police in person.

Do you want to go to prison? They are indecent images of children from what OP says and thus very illegal.

To report anonymously to interpol would I have to do it through the website? I want to keep this information with me from before so if this person ever contacts me again, I’ll immediately know what to do. If there’s any specific link or phone number I’d have to use to report anonymously from my country, can you tell me that?
