It does depend on the subject as for example essay subjects would only give you the points/ AO1 but not how to actually structure each point ie PEEL. Here examiner comments would come in useful as you could learn from common mistakes of people who actually did the exams as the real thing.

Another thing it is normally a mark per point, and they are normally the very basic outline of what is needed to gain the mark so ensure the points are in your answer and you're good to go- the points may need to be a comprehensive and chronological order for processes and for 6 marks they normally give more than 6 point but if you have 6 of any of the points, you can award yourself 6 marks.
