What are strengths or weaknesses of the two process model? Any help would be appreciated

Strengths: Therapy Application - Systematic Desensitisation is based on this model.
Explains how phobias are acquired and maintained so good explanatory power

Weaknesses - there are so many of these so pick and choose the best ones:
Doesn't explain phobias which don't follow traumas. Seligman's theory of biological preparedness is a good example - we're genetically disposed to fear certain things like spiders/snakes.
Ignores the cognitive aspects of phobias such as a faulty schema and irrational beliefs - can't explain why these things occur.

Also any strengths/weaknesses of the behavioural approach in general - ie lack of generalisability due to rat/dog experiments, extreme nurture, determinist.

All taken from the textbook btw
