Do 2 homologous chromosomes contain identical genetic information or can the genetic information just be similair but not identical? (I only have a basic knowledge of biology)

Thank you in advance 🙂

Homologous chromosomes contain the same genes but (often) different alleles. For example, your chromosome 15s will have your eye colour alleles on them. They might both be brown, or one blue one brown etc. So they contain different genetic information, but the genetic information is about the same things.
