Hi
This may be a stupid question but I'm so confused...

I have two conditional places at two different universities, and I applied for student finance with my firm choice, so do I have to apply seperately for my insurance choice? I won't know which Uni i go to until I get my results at the end of the year.

No apply for one. There is an option to change your info with SFE at a later date.

No. You apply as if you're going to your firm choice, then submit a change of circumstance form if you end up going to your insurance choice or through clearing. You then reapply for 2nd and 3rd years.
