Brother is looking to buy a car for around £500, and needs it to be as cheap as possible. Criteria
-cheap to buy (£500)
-cheap to tax (£30/year)
-petrol (ulez)
-cheap to insure (under group 10)
-smallish hatch (fiesta and corsa size, etc)

I only think of Suzuki Alto (old shape) as a cheap run around, any other suggestions?

If it's that cheap to buy the odds are it's going to cost you a lot more in maintaining.

He's only planning to keep it for a few months (maybe half a year to 8 months)

There's a chance some of these could be beaten down to £500.
If not, this Autotrader search should give Nadim and friend, some ideas on the sort of cars to look out for.

This thread is the sort of challenge that the Car Throttle Youtube guys give themselves.
