Yes it is, what do you mean by tips to get one? Finding cheap ones? I'd suggest checking Ebay,Facebook, Autotrader, Pistonheads for used ones. You'd have to do some MOT Checks as well as go on compare the market website to check insurance to see if you will be able to afford it.

Yeah, one of the best first cars you can get IMO. It was my first car. Why is it so good?

1) Small size means it's easier to park, navigate in tight areas
2) Very good visibility, the only car I have driven that I felt had better visibility was the 2006 Toyota Yaris
3) Cheap to run and cheap to maintain
4) Typical of VW, the interior is very well put together in terms of aesthetics. Very simple and easy to use IMO
5) Handling and biting point is very straight forward and easy.

You can get one via eBay or Autotrader. I use those myself.
