This is only useful for essay subjects. For subjects like maths (or it's relative subjects), online exams would have to be radically different. Personally I don't see how they could be possible, as you could literally have a friend sit near you and tell you the answers. Even if it was an open book problem sheet.

I agree that it's unclear how STEM-based subjects plan to carry out these assessments. I look forward to hearing the outcome.

Does anyone know what a written online exam would be like and how are they regulated to prevent cheating? All my exams have been moved online and I’m a bit worried and stressed.
I think this thread answers most of your queries.

Thanks! I can see how it will work for subjects like History however I study Radiography and it’s a bit different. Really hope we aren’t put at a disadvantage as a result of this

Exams at UoB will be done online. I don't know how they're going to make it so, it seems weird. I don't get why they just wont change it to coursework and move to the due date to July/august.
What course are you doing?

Yeah your username should've been a bit of a clue

Really not sure how an online exam would work for a course like that. I imagine there'll be more details next week.

the way my chemistry course is run is that throughout the year we have a lab module where we're in labs, the other modules are examined as a paper at the end of the year. So if they can do it online they can surely move it to coursework. It's silly preparation.

I'd say give them a couple of weeks to work out exactly how online exams will be done. :yep:
