Usually yes, if you can show you at capable of it. For example, if someone didn’t do GCSE history, but did really well in English, they would almost definitely be allowed to do A level history.

It might also depend on the DT subject specifically if it was something like engineering ..probably although if it’s something like textiles that might be different because they aren’t as closely related.
It depends on your school. You could ask. For my friend, he only took Btecs so he could do DT due to his engineering btec but the teachers knew him so they were allowed. You would need to go over GCSE DT to catch up as well
