If you have HIV (that is controlled by medication), are you at a higher risk of being more severely affected by coronavirus, or are the 'underlying conditions' that affect it more like heart disease, asthma, etc?

I am currently trying to find that out! HIV that is under control with medication though, and your bloods are totally okay, you should be practically like anyone else. There are more serious conditions than the ones you mentioned in your OP though, like ones that severely effect the immune system, which HIV is when not controlled.

I am HIV positive and not totally controlled with medication so I will be from today self isolating for 12 weeks I guess.. even though exams are soon.. I'm not sure.
