I rejected St. Andrews, York and Newcastle for Soton!

I rejected Bristol, Cardiff, Durham, Edinburgh and Sheffield

(back in the olden days of 6 UCAS choices...)

but yeah Southampton is terrible  (terrible means good yes?)

Ah, maybe it's like 'bad' which means 'good', or 'wicked' which means good.

Southampton is so frickin' terrible, man
I agree

Southampton is lovely. I love it so much that I changed my course choice to get into soton rather than go somewhere else to do my original course. I'm happy and can't WAIT.

Solents good for the more creative courses. I've got some friends doing PMP and they've formed a band, they're gigging round venues in So'ton at the moment. In a way it's good work experience really- you get to do what you love while getting a degree at the same time.

Do itttttttt.

Ok, to straighten things up, I don't believe Southampton is terrible... but it is certainly not an elite uni; which I thought contrasted this idiot's elitist class delusions about proletariats.

But you go to Demontford? Which is also not an Elite uni so why say Southampton is terrible and not just say it is not elite???

So why is Southampton terrible?
The University of Southampton is ranked 80th worldwide and 12th in the UK, so it is hardly even an 'ok' university. For the course I am currently studying, Modern Languages, it is ranked 3rd behind Oxford and Cambridge, and it is top 10 for engineering and medicine.
Naturally it does not excel in every subject area, but it is renound for the calibre of postgraduate research it hosts.

Southampton Solent on the other hand, is a new university, and is good for newer more vocational subjects, and is coincidentally just down the road. There's some kind of rivalry between the two that tbh I haven't quite figured out...

Mentioning AISEC my friend is the president of it here and ja, if anything, Southampton University does give a lot of opportunities and has a lot of connections. The student services and union are also OUTSTANDINGLY supportive so student life here is really excellent.
