Hi, I am having trouble getting a consistent answer to write for Aspirin Half Life.

It seems that the internet is full of different answers for the half life of either Aspirin (ASA) and Salicylic Acid (SA) the active metabolite.

Some sites say that under 200mg Aspirin follows first order kinetics and this tends towards zero order kinetics as dose increases.

Some sites say that Aspirin (ASA) half life is only 15mins and the Salicylic acid form then is longer ~5 hours or so.

But my Pharmacy book here in Australia says half life is 0.5HRS for Salicylic acid..

I just want one consistent answer, even if I need to spilt the answer up for:

1. Intact Aspirin
2. Salicylic acid

Can someone help?

* We are talking oral administration, not IV
