Oriental girls...

I have something of an affinity for Japanese girls in particular, although at my University they always appear to be very clique-like and stick with their own oriental friends.

Any advice? I've occasionally seen some Japanese girls out, although always with some Japanese guys >_<

Quite ironic considering my University has one of the highest percentages of international students.

They're normal people. Generally I've found the cliquey far eastern lot to be very friendly and socially welcoming. They just stick in groups cos it feels safe. Talk to them, you'll be surprised I'm sure.

Yeah, I didn't mean that they're cliquey in any sort of mean way - probably just used to what they know, and being in another country must be kinda scary anyway. Although I'd find it so difficult to just walk to a random and talk to them. I'd be worried it's not a "done thing" in their country. Bah :frown:

I dont see why you have to anon -.-' pfft. yeah, a lot of oriental asians tend to do this because its a lot easier to socialise with people who speak your mother tongue. It's natural, i find it easier to socialise with my oriental cousins coz we relate in some aspects. Its kind of awkward to go through that wall, but yeah, it's either you do nothing or do something.

I think they can be very sweet and charming and very friendly. They like good manners so be polite and I don't see any problem. I would stick with my British mates if I lived in Japan just because it is a different language and culture. Over time they will mix as they feel more comfortable.

Oriental girls are amazingly beautiful, but then not all are, as is the same with every countries peoples. I swear the French use some sort of good looking ingredient in their food though.

You could try making friends with some British-Japanese people (who are much more westernised) first and get them to introduce you to these girls you like.

i find the those type of oriential girls who hang in their 'own kind' really annoying.

you're better off aiming for british born oriental people, they are more open minded and generally mix with other ethinic races.

Try make friends with Japanese males first? I knew quite a few Europeans who went out with Koreans through help of Korean male students in high school. It's much more easier and less awkward if you go to them with someone who speaks their language and understands the culture than by yourself.

Btw, don't you mean Far East Asians, not simply Orientals? I think 'Oriental' tends to refer to regions around India and closer to the Middle East than places like Japan.
